With activity as a harbour for Bridport dating back to the early-medieval period, it is in more recent times that West Bay was brought to the masses through the tv crime drama Broadchurch. A well-visited spot on the Dorset coast, close to the town of Bridport, West Bay has been referred to as the 'golden gateway to the Jurassic coast' and sits at the far reaches of Chesil Beach.

This design depicts the dramatic East Cliff, created using extracts of old nautical maps to build up the digital layers. Looking down the beach from this vantage point, there's a lovely walk along the pebbles to The Hive seafood café at Burton Bradstock, with the return leg swinging a little inland and back along the cliff tops.
