Royd Moor Penistone Art Print

Having grown up in and around Barnsley, I have many happy memories of riding horses throughout my childhood, teenage years and early twenties. Navigating my way along lanes and bridleways that criss-crossed the landscape from Silkstone and Cawthorne to Penistone and the very edge of the Pennines, I have created a new series that looks back on my time in the saddle riding across the most stunning countryside.

This design captures a scene I saw on the days I worked as a groom in Cawthorne, heading along South Lane from Naylor's Pipeworks up towards Hoylandswaine. The wind turbines in the distance were one of the first renewable energy farms in the local area, providing a new landscape along a ridge road at Royd Moor that can still be seen for miles and miles.
