The Minack is an open-air theatre in Cornwall, cut into the rock above a gully overlooking the turquoise waters below. Less than 100 years old and perched high above the cliffs, the theatre looks as though it has been there forever! Brainchild of Rowena Cade, the theatre was born from her offer to host productions by a local village group of players in 1930. Rowena offered her garden as a venue and over the following years, she and her gardener, Billy Rawlings, created the stepped seating terraces you see today, along with designing the exotic gardens that are full of colour and interest amongst the rocky surroundings.
