Langsett Reservoir Art Print

Nestled on the north-eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, and surrounded by woodlands and rolling moorlands, Langsett Reservoir is a tranquil haven for both locals and visitors, offering a network of walking and cycling trails that cater to all abilities. Completed in 1904, it was constructed to supply water to the burgeoning city of Sheffield (and later, Barnsley). The reservoir boasts a capacity of over 1,400 million gallons, making it the largest in the immediate Sheffield district.

I have fond memories of walking there in my twenties and of a particularly wet and windy walk across the moorland on a school trip to Scout Dyke in the mid- to late-eighties. I seem to recall having to navigate one of the streams (perhaps the Little Don) where no footbridge existed!

As a proud Yorkshire artist, I have aimed to capture the essence of this cherished local landscape, blending vibrant colours and intricate patterns from my original paintings to bring the scene to life.
