Fitties Beach 1 Art Print

Nestled near the village of Humberston, Fitties Beach is renowned for its golden sands, grassy dunes, and the distinctive Humberston Fitties Chalet Park. The term “fitties” developed from the anglicisation of the Norse fitjar meaning “foreshore saltings” or “waterside grassland” reflects the area’s natural heritage.

Part of a series of three scenes, each depicting a different view of the beach, this print looks out through the grasses and foliage towards Haile Sand Fort. I always think that when the sun is shining, this part of the beach has a Mediterranean quality due to the tall pine trees and shrubs that hug the dunes and coastal path.
