Cadbury Castle Art Print

An ancient hillfort, a landscape rich in history and a legend that endures.

Rising above the surrounding Somerset countryside, Cadbury Castle is a remarkable landmark whose story stretches back thousands of years. This distinctive hilltop, shaped by generations of human activity, holds traces of Neolithic, Iron Age, Roman and later occupation. Its enduring association with the legendary Camelot adds an intriguing layer of myth and imagination to an already fascinating place.

Surrounded by open countryside and far-reaching views, Cadbury Castle is as much a part of the landscape today as it has been throughout its long history. It is a place where the natural contours of the land meet the stories we attach to it – a reminder of how landscapes can hold meaning far beyond what we see.

Created in my distinctive digital collage style, this contemporary Somerset landscape print reimagines Cadbury Castle through layers of colour, texture, pattern and fragments of my original artwork. My love of this area and of British pre-history informs the work, bringing together the character of the landscape with the history, memory and imagination it inspires.

This print was created as a companion to my Parrock Hill landscape, celebrating two distinctive views of the countryside around the East Somerset and Dorset border. Each artwork stands alone, but together they offer a shared sense of place and belonging.

An original landscape reimagined as a contemporary art print, perfect for anyone with a love of Somerset, ancient places, British history and the stories held within the land. Particularly meaningful for those who have explored the Corton Ridgeline, the Monarch's Way or the popular Beacon Circular walking route.
