Said to have inspired the setting for Fantastic Mr. Fox in a movie adaptation, the lone tree perched atop Burrow Hill in Somerset offers stunning 360-degree views of the sprawling landscape below.
Located within the grounds of Burrow Hill Farm, the tree witnessed the arrival of the Temperleys in the 1960s, where they began a life-time’s work of restoring and planting the ancient cider orchards around the farm (the family’s ancestors had been making cider in the village of Kingsbury Episcopi since the 1770s). Burrow Hill Cider and The Somerset Cider Brandy Company were born from Burrow Hill’s 300-year-old cider making legacy.
This hidden gem – a single sycamore tree at the top of a small hill – provides the visitor with a somewhat spiritual atmosphere; a serene spot from which to watch the sunrise or sunset.
Available in two colour palettes: greens or pinks.
