Here's a modern and colourful twist to this local landmark! Designed and built by Briggs and Thornely of Liverpool, Barnsley Town Hall opened in December 1933 by HRH Edward, Prince of Wales. Architecturally classical in style, the structure is made of Barnsley bricks, and covered in Portland Stone (a limestone from the Isle of Portland in Dorset).
